Lorelai and Christopher invite the Rory's gang, including Paris and other people working at the paper, to eat at an elegant French restaurant. Lorelai speaks to the waiter with a heavy French accent. She is appalled when she notices the waiter as a Bristish accent. Shouldn't waiters in a French restaurant speak French?
Sookie refuses free vegetables from a new local farmer saying that the inn already has a supplier. Luke picks up April after her swimming lessons. There, he meets Susan Bennett, the swimming coach, who convinves him to take lessons. During a class, Susan develops a clear liking for Luke. Later, the two of them eat at "The Eager Vegan." Lorelai and Christopher go to Yale for Parents' Weekend.

Could Lorelai and Christopher be on vacation in Paris? Because both of them will encounter a Parisian truck driver who makes fun of them trying to speak French, and French women who chat while hanging their laundry.

With the help of a midwife, Liz delivers her baby in her own house. T.J. contacts Luke to let him know of the news. There is a "knitathon festival" in town. At the event, the high school Jazz band performs, there is a little petting zoo, and tents and stands where people can buy/spin/etc. yarn. Sookie and Jackson sell spaghetti at the event. Kirk sells knitting needles.
